In recent times, it has been a tough environment for retail investors, with market uncertainty and volatility leaving them unsure of their investments' future. However, what about the private markets? Are they facing similar challenges?
Ross Verry, CEO of Syndex - a platform that connects investors to opportunities in the private markets - recently spoke to Lloyd Burr on this issue.
"It was very challenging, some of these themes have been recurring for a little while," Verry told Burr.
"We've talked about inflation and that isn't going away just yet. Rising interest rates still seems to have a little way to play out, since we last spoke we've had those climate events which have obviously made things difficult.
"Over the weekend, there was the collapse of the Silicon Valley Bank… that does give people some jitters.
"It's been good to see the authorities step in behind that collapse and certainly make their best efforts to give people assurance about the banking system.
"It's just one of those points in time where there are lots a lot for investors to think about."
