A new visa is being created to immediately support the cyclone and flooding rebuild.
Immigration Minister Michael Wood has announced the six-month Recovery Visa will bring in more workers needed in the clean up of Cyclone Gabrielle and the Auckland flooding.
Applications open on Friday with the aim of being processed within a week.
All fees will be refunded for successful applicants.
The Government is also providing additional support to Immigration New Zealand to speed up visa processing.
