GrabOne launches 'Businesses in Need' initiative for Cyclone-affected businesses

GrabOne is offering its platform to Cyclone Gabrielle-affected businesses for free to help them rebuild their livelihoods.

The move comes as many businesses continue to struggle in the aftermath of the devastating cyclone that hit the North Island.

The initiative, called 'Businesses in Need,' was launched earlier this week and allows shoppers from around the country to purchase vouchers or donate money to affected providers via the GrabOne website.

Those who wish to sign their business up for 'Businesses in Need' can click here.

Businesses will receive immediate funds, with customers committing to a straight donation or to redeem or gift the service at a later date when the business resumes operation.

Belinda Lush, the boss of GrabOne and a resident of Piha, which was also affected by the storm, said the campaign was a win-win way for shoppers to 'support local' and give an immediate cash injection to businesses to help them rebuild.

Affected businesses will also receive a complimentary listing and a free advertising package on GrabOne's extensive network, which reaches as many as 50,000 Kiwis a day.

They can choose to promote their business and drive traffic directly to their own website via the GrabOne platform, promote their Givealittle crowdfunding campaign, or set up a GrabOne offer where customers can purchase vouchers at NZ$25 increments to be used at that business anytime in 2023.

The move has been welcomed by many businesses that are struggling to get back on their feet after Cyclone Gabrielle.
