At least 25 states in the US are one Supreme Court decision away from banning same-sex marriage.
For now, the right remains legal, but after Roe v Wade was overturned, many fear nothing is off the table.
Last week, the House voted to protect same-sex marriage under federal law, but it will now head to the Senate where it faces a tougher and uncertain passage.
