A hippo attacked a 2-year-old boy in Uganda, swallowing half of his body before spitting him out.
The boy named Iga Paul, had been playing at his home near a lake when a hippo appeared.
A man nearby saw the incident and threw stones at the hippo, causing it to release the child from its mouth.
Despite the animal swallowing the boy’s head and upper body, he only had minor injuries on his hand.
He was quickly rushed to a medical clinic after the incident and later moved to a hospital for further treatment for a vaccine for rabies.
Police say the boy has made a full recovery and was discharged.
