King Charles featured and voiced himself on bro'Town

Mario Gaoa, a member of the Naked Samoans comedy group, spoke with Mel Homer on Sunday Café about how King Charles was featured on bro'Town.

"For every person that we drew, like Temuera Morrison, Helen Clark, King Charles, they voice their own voice," said Gaoa.

"King Charles appears on the show and he voices his own Morningside for life."

The bro'Town creators convinced King Charles to do a recording when he came to New Zealand in 2005 for a meet and greet.

"The production girl had the sound recorder hidden in a little bush there so that they looked like they were just standing.

"When they came up for the handshake, they floated the idea.

"They said to him, could you say Morningside for life for us? And obviously, the King doesn’t do that stuff.

"But Helen Clark butts in and goes, oh, come on, I've done it.

"The King goes, oh, what do I have to say?

"And bingo. The King is on."
