ACT Leader David Seymour reacts to Jacinda Ardern's resignation

ACT Leader David Seymour spoke on Leah & Mark about his thoughts on Jacinda Ardern resigning.

“I don’t think it changes a lot," Seymour said.

“Jacinda Ardern is a well-meaning person whose deals collided with reality, very hard.

“New Zealand faces serious challenges as a result of that collision between Jacinda Ardern’s hopeful idealism and the day to day reality of any country.

“It just turned out that running a Government was a bit more complex than imagined.”

Seymour believes there are bigger issues that still withstand within the government and need to continue to be looked at throughout this year.

“We are going to have serious discussions all year about how to make life affordable and the economy work again, how to get lawlessness off the streets... and what the treaty means in 2023.

“Those are the issues that we will fight over in this election.

“ACT is very excited about the prospect of this and the government making that change real."
