Revolutionary EcoPond System Could Reduce Dairy Farm Emissions By 7%

Celebrating his 20th season as Lincoln University Dairy Farm Manager, Peter Hancox discusses the groundbreaking EcoPond effluent treatment unit currently being trialled on the farm.

This innovative system aims to significantly reduce methane emissions by using a solution of iron sulphate to foster sulphate-reducing bacteria, which outcompete methane-producing bacteria.

He also touches on the broader use of advanced monitoring tools like Minder and ProTrack, alongside Allflex collars for livestock management.
