Sri Lanka 'dangerous' - Black Caps Daryl Mitchell on third round of T20 World Cup

The Black Caps are more than a little wary of tonight’s opponent at the T20 World Cup.

Kane Williamson’s side face Sri Lanka at Sydney Cricket Ground in Australia from 9 o’clock tonight, with both teams fully aware that a win would be a significant step closer to the semifinals.

Speaking on Marc Peard Sports, returning Black Caps batsman Daryl Mitchell described the Sri Lankan team as 'dangerous', with the Kiwi team expecting tonight's game to be 'challenging'.

"Last month in the Asia Cup they [Sri Lanka] won that and knocked over the likes of Pakistan and India … they're a very good team and they've got all facets covered."

While Mitchell believes Sri Lanka will be a hard team to beat, he described the Black Caps to be good under pressure, saying he is excited for tonight's game and what it will bring.

"That's one thing that we do as a group really well is we don't make it bigger than what it is," he explained.

"We just get out there - a bunch of Kiwis trying to get stuck in - and hopefully we win a few games of cricket along the way."

Thankfully for New Zealand cricket fans, the weather forecast for Sydney is good for this evening’s match.
