Composer Burt Bacharach dies aged 94

One of the world's greatest songwriters, Burt Bacharach, has died aged 94.

The American composer wrote hundreds of massive hits from the 60s to the 80s including, I Say A Little Prayer, Walk On By, and What's New Pussycat.

Over his long career, Bacharach earned almost every major award in music, including six Grammys, and three Oscars.

Bacharach wrote more than 500 songs, many featuring a tinkling piano and subtly seductive horn hooks. He penned hits for singers ranging from Dionne Warwick to the Carpenters with more than 1,200 artists performing his songs.

He died at his LA home of natural causes.
