Scott Rome is a finalist for the prestigious Arable Awards in the seed grower category. He farms at Waifield Farm in Southland and has been operating the farm for five years, diversifying into seed production alongside managing 400 breeding ewes and 700 dairy cows.
Rome reflects on his journey and explains what prompted him to expand into seed production alongside his already bustling livestock operations.
He shares his excitement for the upcoming Arable Awards night, on August 15 in Christchurch, looking forward to meeting some of the top people involved in Arable Farming in the country.
