Black Ferns Stacey Fluhler 'grateful' to be able to buy first home

If there’s one thing we're all looking forward to, it's some growth in 2023.

Black Ferns Stacey Fluhler is all about that. When you step outside of your comfort zone, that's when you allow yourself to grow.

Fluhler said people in New Zealand need to recognise how lucky we are in the world, and said buying her first home this year has made her very grateful.

"We talk about gratitude all the time and we have a process in our team where someone stands up every morning and they tell us what they're grateful for," Fluhler said.

"Gratitude to me is just being grateful for the little things that you get. There are so many things happening in the world today and we're better off than a lot of other people around the world because we have all these things.

"We live in a society where people are ungrateful because they don't have what they want versus what they need. And that's a big thing for me. There are these needs, there are these wants, and I feel like we're lucky. We're lucky in New Zealand. We live a beautiful life.

"We have a lot of things that other people don't get. So I always try and take a step back. Living a professional lifestyle. We get paid to do this. We get good money ... I bought my first house this year and I'm so grateful for that because I know a lot of people struggle with that.

"It's just being grateful for the little things."
