Call for New Zealand Rugby to 'get on with it' and end coaching confusion

Crusaders coach Scott Robertson is in hot demand and boy does he know it.

Fiji has reportedly approached him to head its team into the 2023 World Cup in France.

But Razor may know something the rest of the country doesn’t about the coveted All Blacks head coaching role.

After a meeting with NZ Rugby, he told the media an announcement of some sort is imminent, and that the next few weeks "is big".

Sports reporter for Stuff and The Press, Rob Van Royen told Tova O'Brien the whole situation has been poorly organised.

"It's messy from New Zealand Rugby," Van Royen said.

"In fairness to everyone, including Ian Foster, they need to make it clear what the plan is and get on with it."

He explained the reality is they can't please everyone and NZR may as well just rip the band-aid off with a definitive decision.

"They can't please Ian Foster, they can't please Jamie Joseph and Razor at the same time whatever they do here."

Van Royen warned, however, that a decision to replace current head coach Ian Foster prior to the World Cup later this year could blow up in New Zealand Rugby's face.

"It does create a chance if they do go early that Ian Foster could win the World Cup and then be gone.

"But hey, he could go out in a blaze of glory, couldn't he?"
