Big win for the Black Caps over Sri Lanka

The Black Caps have thrashed Sri Lanka in the first ODI at Eden Park on Saturday night by 198 runs.

The home side scored 274 all out and then dismissed the visitors for just 76 in the 20th over.

A key bowling performance was that of Henry Shipley who took 5 wickets and loved playing at Eden Park.

"Being able to play in front of a home crowd and that roar for the first time when it's going our way is something that's pretty special and will stick with me for a long time," said Shipley.

"To see that short boundary to get lured into a big total, I think we did well to get to where we did.

"Obviously bowling was about creating some pressure up top."

Game two of the series will be on Tuesday 28th March in Christchurch.
